“Self hosted” means the video is contained on your hosting server, it can have all the video parameters including “click-to-play”, sound control, “looping”, etc.. You have more control over what videos you have and how and where you show them. But you have to have the video files (usually “.mp4”, and/or “.webm”) stored on your hosting computer. These files can be large, up to gigabytes, but usually less than 100mb for small business sites. Today’s internet service is evolving to handle the larger video files, even for small business websites.
